Healthcare is one of the basic services offered by municipalities to their inhabitants and to internally displaced people. To improve the quality of healthcare:

  • The IIPU renovated and improved the premises of 17 medical institutions including nine hospitals that serve close to 200,000 people including 9,000 IDPs.
  • The programme provided medical equipment such as ultrasound equipment or equipment for operating theatres for 37 medical institutions.
  • The projects also trained more than 1,000 medical staff in healthcare management, in methods of dealing with traumatised people and in preventive measures against professional burnout.
  • The plan for Polohy hospital district of Zaporizhzhia region, which unites 6 hospitals, has been developed.
